The modes are the short way in. Under “All settings”, every one of these is its own switch.
Quiet the feed
Hide the home timeline, suggested posts, the “Suggested for you” rail, Explore and Reels in one tap with Quiet mode, and keep the stories of the people you follow. Or go switch by switch, Stories tray included. Where Explore or Reels is hidden, a short note says so, with a way back in for fifteen minutes.
Ghost Mode
Story views, DM read receipts, typing indicators and live-join notifications are stopped at the network layer — including the ones Instagram sends from inside a SharedWorker, where a page-level patch never sees them.
Media & archiving
Hover a photo, video or Reel and save the full-resolution file Instagram itself fetched. Extract a soundtrack as MP3, take a whole story timeline in one click, or view and save a profile picture uncropped.
Chat archive
One button in a chat header writes the whole conversation to a single searchable HTML file, built inside your browser and saved to your machine.
Social signals
Drain like counts, follower counts and unread badges — including the red pill itself, not just the number inside it.

Is IGFocus free?
Yes. It is free and open source, there is nothing to buy inside it, and it has no accounts and no subscription.
Does IGFocus need my Instagram password?
No. It never asks for your password and never signs in on your behalf — it works on the session you already opened yourself, in the tab you already have.
Can Instagram tell that Ghost Mode is on?
Ghost Mode stops the requests that report a story view, a read receipt, a typing indicator or a live join before they leave your browser, so nothing is sent that says you were there. What a service can always notice is the absence of a signal, so this is privacy rather than invisibility.
Where do my settings and screen-time figures go?
Into your own browser's storage, on the machine you are using. The extension has no server, no analytics and no third-party script, and nothing it holds is ever uploaded.
Does it work in Edge, Brave or Firefox?
The published build installs in Chrome and in any current Chromium browser, Edge and Brave included. The source builds for Firefox from the same code.
